This morning I have got an email saying that they have paid my pay pal address and it from some one france lol Sophie Simon 08:16 (1 hour ago)to me I am glad to inform you that i have made the payment and you ought to have gotten the confirmation receipts/email from PayPal but kindly check you paypal email I had a little problem with the mover they said they can only schedule the pick up date and time after they receive their pick up fee in their account office via Money Gram money transfer, but due to me being on a wheelchair i'm unable to get to a Money Gram agent post office to send it. So I included £265 they charged for the pick up and £40 for the Money Gram charges, you will receive the total sum of £485. You'll help send £225 to them via Money Gram money transfer today and here is the details need for the transfer below: Name : Femmy Rowland City: Paris Zip Code: 75000 Country : France Please let me know once you've sent the money so that i can make necessary arrangements. Has any one else experienced this?

Just found out that if you get a txt asking to talk via email its all was a scam ... Don't contact them at all because they will be hacking your paypal account etc to get revenge for stopping the scam...

The first clue I would have its a scam is the sentence.... Pls email THIS person as I want to buy... Plus the other mixed English wording/spelling.

I've bought and sold on Gumtree and also had silly texts and phone calls regarding purchase which I respond to by ignoring farcical texts and if speaking on phone never give my address and make it clear cash only with no strings attached. My last sale a scooter I thought was a scammer to start with, dodgy looking email address foreign accent on phone but turned out it was a very nice young Italian lady that did buy the scooter for asking price

The last SD i sold i recieved an e mail claiming to be off shore and no internet available ( so how did he e mail?) what they asked me to do was pay £100 into their paypal account to activate it and then that plus the balance for the purchase of my bike would be returned within 24 hours with Pick up details to follow. After contacting Paypal and Gumtree both confirmed it was a Western union bank and definitely a scam. However after asking both to report and deal with it, i was astonished to find their priority was to protect THEM and not me. Consequently i closed my account and removed my ad from Gumtree. I found an American adress within the correspondance which i Googled, then contacted their local police station who made an arrest roughly 1 hour later. The officer i spoke to later confirmed that around 300 scam payments had been recieved from the UK alone. Astonishing how many fall for it.
