Hello all forum folks,
Just found this place after my recent purchase of a 1979 CB400N. Its the first bigger superdream ive owned (I did have a CB125TDC Superdream when I was 17) and im sure I will have a few questions along the way.
Could someone possibly confirm my suspicion that at some point my bike has had its bodywork changed, as I don't think they did black on the 79 model?
Here is a pic of the old girl...
Ride safe
Matt.

HI Stinkwheel and welcome ..
Have a look at this , your thoughts seem to be correct.
Honda CB250N / CB400N Model Identifier
The original CB250N & CB400N Super Dream (1978-1979)
Launched in the U.K on the ‘S’ plate in the summer of 1978, were the original CB250N & CB400N Super Dreams - bought in to replace the short lived CB250T & CB400T Dreams that were not really a sales success for Honda in the U.K. The 249cc and 395cc Super Dreams were offered to the British public in the same colour schemes. These bikes were available in Silver, Metallic Blue and Red. They all had a distinctive 'Honda' flash graphic along the tank which faded from blue to lighter blue towards the front of the bike. The 'N' found on the side panels on all of these models was in blue. These machines had electric start as well as a kick starter, found on the right hand side of the engine. These models also had an underseat glove box complete with its own lid and amber reflectors screwed to each side of the headlamp. The instruments on these bikes had a dark blue background with green KMH digits on the speedometer. The CB250N’s speedometer displayed a maximum speed of 100mph and the CB400N version displayed 110mph. The CB400N was offered with a twin disc front brake as opposed to the single disc offered on the CB250N. Frames were numbered between 2000020 ~ 2027217. These bikes were typically registered between 1978/S and 1980/V suffix registration.

Thanks Graham,
I did think as much, though im not bothered, I quite like it in black. Its a bit of a shock to the system riding the superdream, as my other bike at the moment is an RF900. Enjoying it so far though, its done 29,000 and seems to have been off the road dry stored for 20 years before that.
Im liking the fact that It sounds a bit like an old Beeza A50 or something (parallel twin and all that) and it reminds me of biking as a youngster when bikes were a bit more 'bike-ey' :-)

A good few members on here had these in their youth and have fond memories of them.
Made for comfort and to bring a smile to your face.
