Just booked a MOT for My SD tomorrow afternoon (Thursday) I've been right through all I can check & seems all good but always a nervous feeling waiting for the thumbs up, my wallet is particularly thin at moment with the holiday season here & kids off school wanting this that & wife wants to go here there & everywhere

Fingers crossed, but they do seem pretty bullet proof when it comes to MOT time.

All good MOT done & no faults so can sleep easy for another year I had bike mechanic give it a look over as it's going to get some proper miles on it on the South Wales meet in September

What's an MOT ?. We've no use for that rubbish over here. Is there no check at all on any motorcycle is it just up to the owner to make sure it's in a good state of repair ? I would prefer that but I'm sure some people would just take anything onto road if it were law here.

Richard, many years ago when I first started riding there was only one insurance company, Norwich Union, who covered bikes. They insisted that every bike be checked by their "independent" garage, for a fee of course, before they would provide cover. The government has,in the last number of years, got around to checking cars over four years old but so far not bikes. It's only a matter of time but for the moment it's up to owners to keep their machines roadworthy.
