I thought this might be an interesting thread to start. It's a follow on from, "What the...", thread. Show us what you've improvised, bought and doctored to fit your bikes? I'll start, the first picture is my SD with my car number plate blow torched into shape for MOT, because my guard wasn't back from paint. The second is my KLR, I wanted a loud race pipe, but didn't want to spend £200, so bought CR450F pipes of Gumtree for £30, cut, welded and fitted, sweet.

Even as a temp measure, like my number plate muddy......

Like trying to salvage a coil?? That is grasping at straws did it work ? Have not finished it yet. Ive sourced another one in the mean time. Just . . . . .could . . . . . . not . . . . . . . throw . . . . . . . it . . . . away. Id like to solder in screws so i can change the leads. If i ever finish, ill pop some more pics up. But yet, its was my plan A

I know what you mean I hate chucking things away & a lot of my spares for my Superdream are probably never going to be used but you never know so I will hold on to them just in case

Love it mate, you're a man after my own heart. That's exactly what I'm talking about. No one seems to try and fix or modify shit anymore, it's too easy just to buy another!

Hope im not hijacking... but i am a convict after all. Just as you showed some interest: CS brass screw with head cut off. De-burred so no antennas for HV to jump off. Another slot cut in top so not to spin in resin. Screwed into HT lead for spacing. Soldered in. Blue tack to hold resin. Polyester resin to support screw. And sealed with RVT silicone.

Love it! Now does it work! Have not finished it yet. Still have other side to go. Another 5hitter is my first cb is 90% finished. So no testing yet. Not sure how carbon leads will work instead of copper cored.
