The plastic cover is a black one held in with a single screw not the plastic circular sealing one for the cover. You can just see it on the photo, it has a guide tang for that the throttle slide. underneath that cover there are the primary and secondary air inlets that often get clogged up

Should have added just back from MOT bike needed choke over 1/4 revs but with choke 3.4 opened steadily pulled up to 50 + which was fast enough in this rain......anyway the MOT everything was going fine until an examination of the fitted for years but never used Tyre's, perfect tread (still had the rubber whiskers) and I confess that is all I noticed however careful examination of the rear tyre showed two cracks in the side wall over 25mm long and canvas exposed resaulting in first MOT failure I have had - mate who checked everything (and writing the post for me) is kicking himself for not noticing when checking bike over yesterday! 2 mew tyres me thinks!

Well finally managed to upload something although once I did I couldn't add any text - guess still doing something wrong.
Anyway this is a shot of some our club at last years Founders Day my CB250N Superdream being the second bike on right behind my mates 47 Triumph Speed Twin, he is second in on right and has eleven bikes on the road at present, I am the third in from the left.

Hi Derrick, welcome. We've all been there with SD carbs, but don't worry, you & your mate will soon become experts - good luck! Great picture, some nice bikes there, especially the Superdream, of course.

Did find a picture of me on the superdream for a charity photo shoot that we did to raise money for the Spinal Injuries Association 2 years ago called Classic Men and Classic Bikes - but I didn't want to be barred from the site as it was effectively a "calender girls" type nude photo shoot ....... see there is life and adventure in us old un's

Seeing if I can add another picture this time with the explanation - if this works it shows our local club about to lead out around 200 bikes at last years Donnington Park Classic Bike event (we will all be there again on 9th and 10th August - a really great event run by a mate who is part of the VJMCC) - Look to the centre of the picture and there I am on the CB250 revving up and waiting to "burn the rubber" [/URL]
