Has anyone else on here ever had a bike stolen ? I had a Suzuki 250 trail bike stolen in 1995 it was a bit of a wreck but I was really gutted when I came out of my sisters house in the evening it was in the winter dark & wet and ---- there it wasn't ---- it's the most horrible feeling I lived 10 miles away & had to ask for a lift home, we had a drive around the roads near to my sisters house and about half a mile away there it was to this day I don't know if thief pushed or rode it ! really strange but I was so relieved to find it & it was not damaged, it was a pig to start as with most old wrecks you had to have a knack so I'm thinking thief pushed it there & spent a few mins trying to start it & gave up lucky for me

I had a CX500 stole outside a friends house a few years ago. Got lucky and found it same afternoon 3 streets away. Let`s just say they found it difficult walking for a couple of weeks afterwards. ( Not me but my friend visited them with a few of his mates and gave them a lesson they would not forget in a hurry ).

Yep, Had my first sd stolen, Was almost like a freind was dead for a bit of time, Found it a bit later behind someones house minus engine and exhaust and a few other bits, The bloke had a quick lesson of my motocross boots meeting his knees, chins and ribs,
Still got whats left of the bike, but no logbook as it was officially written off as stolen.

Thats the one fungo, youve got a great memory. New black honda is what my dad called it on seeing the reg number. Oneday it will come back to life, need to find new crank and bigend shell bearings and piston rings for the hepolite pistons. Think often a lot about this bike, Too many memories and people involved around that bike,

Never had a complete bike stolen but around 1990 someone in Reading town centre decided to have my helmet away......a red Kiwi full face that I left in the helmet holder on my C50.
That caused me grief because I had no way of getting home without a lid......had to get a taxi back the three miles home to get my spare lid and then get the bus back to the town centre to get the bike which was thankfully still there.
B*******!!!!!

I had my husband's SD stolen outside my flat in Swansea about 1999 or 2000, it was later recovered and we managed to get it back even though we had the insurance payout for it (they never asked for their money back!). However the police had it on the stolen list for a few years after that and we never got any tax reminders during that time!

I had to run a few hundred metres over sharp gravel chipping (mot) to recover my GS125, technically it was not stolen as it was never out of my sight, my feet were in shreds bleeding when I go it, the pain was very bad while I was running, I gust switched myself off and decided I was going to keep running until I got it no mater what, I was crippled for days afterwards but I had my bike to look at and polish, I still have it, don't think I will ever sell it.

I don't get it..... What happened Scania? I was visiting a couple and their baby ( my friends ) who had moved into a new apartment they were renting near where he worked, it was on the third floor in a good area, they were the first tenants in the place and wanted to keep the wooden floor and stairs clean. I locked my GS1125 to a metal lamp post with a chain lock which cost nearly as much as the bike, top of the rang lock and chain. While they were setting out the table I went out on their balcony to check my bike, I saw 3 hoods approaching it with a heavy duty bold cutters (probably stolen from a fire engine, that is how low they go), I started running and when I got to the bike they were already running with it, I out ran them and they dropped it only slightly bending the gear leaver and mirrors, My friends Alsation got all excited, it knew there was something going on, but he had been in the back yard earlier so heard nothing. I brought the bike into their hall lobby and went up for dinner and stayed late, when I went down to go the excited alsation had shredded the seat, foot pegs and pulled lumps out of the tyres. He done a lot more damage than the scum did. The area was still under construction and had gravel everywhere, I didn't have enough time to put my boots on, if I had saved my feet by putting my boots on I would have lost the bike.

These days I tend never to lock my bike anywhere that is out of sight in public, rather \I shop in places that let me bring it in, that is often hard ware shops with a back yard or small grocery shops which have a side entrance, I don't mind paying a bit extra for stuff over the big shop chains knowing that the shop owners are flexible and considerate of bikers, they also allow me to keep my helmet on in their shops if I want to because they know me, this can save having to scrup up on my days off I need to go to the shops. Bit by bit I am moving away from the big impersonal chains and back towards real towns people shops. from what I can see some of the big German discount stores in Dublin treat their staff like dirt so I won't shop there any more.
