But neither of them are V-twins, the cover of the magazine confuses me. Id say both bikes were packed into a comer van to be carried to the photo location and they took off the mirrors for packing then didn't bother to put them back on as they were going to reload the bikes in a few minutes.

The v-twIn thing did not relate to the road test.... There was a dual headline type of thing going on.

They took them off so it would go faster, they should have used a black one.;D

Removed for speed testing I'd guess - note the RD has had its bars turned down , being a silver one the SD doesn't need such "tuning"

In the article the b/w shots out on the road show the bikes with RH mirrors fitted, which I think looks worse as the bike looks unbalanced.
They were probably removed for the glossy photo shoot- on the cover pic the SD mirror would have blocked the view of the RD.....

That's a credible suggestion. I'd have been happy with the view of the Yam obscured though.
