What you can't see in the photo is FB's front wheel in the doorway lol! To be fair JB, there were two doors and my wheel was only obscuring one.

I park on the pavement too Nick but I was talking to a fella who owns a shop and he also has a bike, well a Harley I called in one day and his bike was parked quite a bit away from the front of his shop on the pavement. I asked him why he had parked the bike up the street and he had said a traffic warden and told him he had to move it as there was a single yellow line on the road in front of his shop and that even though his bike was on the pavement it had to be so many metres away from the yellow line. In your picture there are double yellow lines on the road where you are parked so if the traffic warden is correct you are parked illegally.

Just found this which would support what the fella told me :
Can I park on the pavement? It depends – generally not as it is a cause of obstruction. Waiting restrictions cover the highway from centre of highway to back of footpath. If there are waiting restrictions (e.g. yellow lines) on the highway adjacent to the pavement then a Parking Ticket (PCN) would be issued since a vehicle parked in this manner is in contravention of the traffic order. If there are no waiting restrictions on the highway adjacent to the pavement, then the Council have no powers to take action and this should be taken up with the Police since it constitutes obstruction. Remember - Pavements are constructed and provided for pedestrian use. Vehicles parked on pavements are: • a hazard to pedestrians causing an obstruction which may result in them having to step off the pavement onto the highway thus putting themselves in danger. • a hazard by restricting the width of the pavement making it difficult for someone with a pushchair or wheelchair to pass safely - again this person may have to go into the highway to avoid the obstruction. • a hazard due to the damage caused by driving on and off the pavement - broken flagstones etc.

Thing is, it is the angle of the photo - the line actually stopped where the bike was parked. Very informative info though. I think what is also a factor is the amount of time you intend to be there. If it was double yellows / single yellow, some traffic wardens are tolerant but of course, others are not.

I would'nt worry Fungo you'll find more cars with two wheels on the curb than bikes ( and speaking of yellow lines ,have you seen my avatar ,in my defence I was broken down )

Well I'm going out for a test ride later down the lanes with no t** - you need an MOT to get it!!!!! And you need to do a test ride to get an MOT. Let the highway code police fire me for that as well.
