Hi All I thought I would say hello as I am expecting to be asking for help and advice over the coming months as I restore my Super Dream. I have a small collection of classic bikes and, if I am honest, I was really not expecting to add a Honda Super Dream any time soon but, under sad circumstances, I had the chance to acquire a 1979 CB400N, the bike was registered back on 13 August 1979 and bought by a relative two years later in August 1981, it was barely used and is still wearing a tax disc from 1983. 32 years on and the bike has just clicked over the 8,000 mile mark, it has suffered a from standing for so long, but it is very original and I really couldn't resist restoring the old girl and take a blast down memory lane, this is a picture after a wash and brush up, it is a bit flattering to be honest but I am chuffed to bits with the bike and I am now looking forward to getting stuck into my hobby for the next few months!

Thanks for the welcome guys!
I have to agree clearly no expense spared on the tax disc holder and precious little time spent on considering where to mount it, I may leave it on the bike though I figure it has kind of earned its place after all these years. I hope to get the bike on the bench in the next week or so at which point you can expect the questions to start flowing about the best place for parts etc.
The only thing that has me baffled at the moment is why the stripes on the side panels have gone, but that's something I'll never get to the bottom of...

Yeah, I agree they may have had a paint on the side panels or had new replacement items fitted at some stage in her life. Back in the day, I'd known a few instances of the side panels being stolen from bikes parked up in town. Most of the time they would come from Honda without the decals. Also, the 'SUPER DREAM' should be in white on this model - easily sorted. Enjoy fettling her.
