Hi there, I've been browsing the forum for help and now logged in as a member. Although not a SD owner myself, I am a Rebel 125 owner of many years now so have some knowledge of the SD relationship with my Rebel. I used to be quite well known amongst the Honda UK fraternity as I set up the original Honda Rebel Owners Club back in '99! Although the club no longer exists after I left, I still have my bike, and now a friend has taken to restoring his Dad's old SD I am hoping this forum may be of valuable assistance on stuff I don't know?
I'll not dive in posting questions in the wrong place through ignorance, but as an indicator, we're having trouble identifying why my colleagues bike has an unusual solo pattern seat arrangement? From the excellent model identifier thread I know his is an early (1979) version with kickstart etc, in the stock silver with blue decals etc. I'll be browsing more in depth on here, but if anyone has the expertise to help identify the reason for the unusual seat, please contact me!

Sorry about that - was having a hissy fit with photobucket for a moment, but here's the bike showing that unusual seat. No grab rails on the sides, no grab handle either, and a solo type hump at the back? Not found anything like it online so far?

I'll be using the forum's resources more I'm sure once my friend's bike is back from it's current MOT work. As I mentioned in my first post, I'm not unfamiliar with the mechanical underpinnings of the SD as the Rebel came from the same lineage as you probably know already My own bike seemed well known on the show circuit when the club did the rounds until 2005, and here's my machine on a photoshoot at one such show. I'm sure you can see my bike underneath the obligatory model draped over it...lol

Welcome to the forum, RebelRider.
Nice bike - love silver kickers - I currently have one just like the one in your pic minus the Guillari.
Is the girl draped across your bike one of Shakespeare's Sisters?

Is the girl draped across your bike one of Shakespeare's Sisters? Hi there, no she was a modelling friend of the female photographer who did the bike shoots at various shows at the time
