The engine of my Cb400t could do with a clean up but I don't want to remove it until next winter so I am wondering if anyone has any advise about tidying it up while still in the frame. I have used gunk but there are still white deposits all over the engine. The seat cover needs replaced and I notice a number can be purchased on-line but I am not sure about the quality of them. I have been in touch with a local firm who could recover the seat for £30- £40. The downside being that the seat would not have the ribbed sections like the original seat. Just asking to see what you would do. I am not doing a full restoration but a tidy up of rusty and worn parts to get the bike back on the road again to enjoy it. I have set myself a target of the 30th June to get her on the road. Funds permitting of course but looking for bargins I still need the following Speedo casings Front sprocket Chain Shocks Ignition switch Mirrors Seat recovered Front mudguard rechroned John.

recovering a seat is easy, just take your time. But if you want to get the local company to do it why not purchase your own cover with the correct pattern on it and give them that to fit?
