Shouldn`t it be called a " high frequency agitator " ?. Worth a try though no matter what it is called , sevicable results.

I am sure that i have seen a vibrating tub/barrel for sale from frosts which probably has the same effect as your home-made device!

The idea is right ,it works on the same principle as ultrasonic cleaners, a bit more savage and maybe not for the more delicate parts but the bits he did came out looking OK.
