If you own a CB400NC it would seem the VIN plate (RHS) down tube still stated 395cc (as on earlier versions) even though the engine was a 399cc on this model.
I think this came up previously a few years ago.
Anyone got an NC and can see what I am on about? Maybe it was corrected on the later NC but the VIN I have just seen begins 230**** so is an early one.

Cheers Tel, I thought so. Maybe they are all like it, even the ones after 230?

Specs on the NC brochure also still stated 395cc. Bore and Stroke 70.5x50.6 which my schoolboy geometry equates to exactly 395cc.
What changed in the engine to get the extra 4cc's to 399- I've never worked it out?

Any updates?
Something to do with the external oil feed perhaps?

On holiday in Thorney Island Nick- sketchy Internet. ..
Bike mag tested a CB400NC and made a point of noting the changes to oil feed and front muddy, but still stated the old bore/stroke capacity. Were these bikes quietly upgraded through the production run?...
