Being tight, I've taken to just buying the 'o' rings for stuff like this - I've repaired my carb inlets & the pilot screws on my SDs & CB500 this way.

Down to one cb400n (in need of repair, aren't mine always?) oh and possibly a cb two fifty!

Thanks for that, it looks like that is the gasket, and i agree with you the viton alternative is worth it, i hope other people see this post so that they can buy these too. The one thing i dislike is when people use gasket cement or re-use broken seals when new ones can be got cheaply!
