I used to listen to Luxembourg on my tranny under the covers in bed via the ear plug so mum and dad would'nt hear me ,this was around two o clock in the morning as round our way this was the only time you could hear it without interference This brings back memories, mine was a black MW/LW steeple tone with a telescopic aerial and a single hearing aid beige earpiece. Tony Blackburn and Arnold (woof, woof!) or Luxembourg. Loved it!

Something beyond cool.....the way the great Gambo reads out the charts from way back in the day.
It was 26/11/89 earlier and the way that he delivered it earlier on Radio 2 was as cool as ice. It begs the question................Gambo or Blackburn? Both are fantastic at delivering the classic chart.

Neither, Alan Freeman was the man for the charts

Oh yes. I think I remeber Alan Freeman on Pick of the pops on a Sunday afternoon. He used the expression "Pop Pickers" if I remember correctly.
