Apparently this is quite a popular bike style in Japan (or so i've read). Japanese bikers do these crazy things to older bikes like the hawk (AKA superdream) to stand out and make a stand on conformity. loud crazy exhausts, ridiculous seats and weird handlebars are all part of the style called "Bosozoku"
(Don't know how i know this but i do lol)
I quite like it to be honest, definitely something different and would look even more out of place outside Japan. (and that one is quite a sensible one!!)
