Hi, I have just bought a 1980 250 ad. Had one about 22 years ago, this one is a lot better condition. Just got it home and noticed throttle sticking and not returning, also tick over poor when throttle fully closed. Anyone got any suggestions?. Thanks

Welcome....
Check the cables as well, there is an A & B (open and close) cable....
Sounds like the carbs may need whipping off for a clean up at the very least and cables checked / renewed.....

It takes a bit of practise to remove them but quite logical....
As for cleaning, have you got a local bike shop near you?
I personally (like most people at home) have certainly not the gear to blow them out etc.....you ideally need a compressor...or if you wanted them ultra clean, ultrasonic may be the way to go. But they will still need to be set up / balanced when back on the machine.

I have access to a compressed air line at work. Will I need new gaskets etc, when refitting. Thanks

Maybe, maybe not....there are so many gaskets.
Take a gander around the site - there is quite a bit on carbs in here - quite a troublesome area.
