I agree a bit naive, there's a guy near me who leaves his bike out all year round with no security on it. I'm surprised it hasn't been damaged at least or stolen at worst.

I reckon targeted rural thefts are the worst.....It just has to left out a few times with no locks etc and the owners (residedents) think 'it never happens here'....

The most annoying thing is not the thieves robbing the bike, it the fact that the law and the tax system is so easy on bike thieves who in most cases don't work, don't pay taxes and live on social welfare all their lives while the law is so hard on the working man if he is under too much time pressure to have his vehicle 100% road worthy, so that they can extract so much from him to prop up a whole legal system of lawyers , judges, clerical workers, etc which defends the thief. All these beurocrats need the thief so that they too can parasite of the working man, but the burocrats and the bike thieves are effectively part of the same mob.
