More off the VJMC stand- back in the day you would get zero street cred for riding one of these, but the UK Dads went to work on them. A bike that would run and run with very little love and attention- so that's what people did- ran them into the ground. I like them because of the whole CB160/CB175/CB200 dynasty of bikes.... I started biking on one of these cost me £198 and I killed the camshaft on a run to weymouth a mate of mine restores these still

Just going back to the Silver CBX in Paul's pic.
That bike has some mega crash bars on it, doesn't it ? Were they the real deal ?

Aye, they were the Genuine Article.
It needed them too, coz if it toppled off the stand the engine would be scrap - it stuck out soooooo far.
Mind you, if you went tarmac surfing on one of these then the bike would end up a write off anyway. The engine is an integral structural member and would take the full brunt of a slide, bending the frame at the mounting points in the process.

I've seen several types- these look like the official Honda ones, but others were very similar. Another CBX on the stand had a set of boxy, square bars fitted which just didn't do it....

Soz- never got that close. Both had the lower UK bars and no rear glovebox- so possibly UK bikes....
