I tend to agree with some of what is mentioned in the report, but it seems different training schools act differently. When I did my cbt there was no way any one of us in our group was going to fail it, the instructors made sure we all passed so he could get off home. When my son did his, he spent time in a classroom doing a bit of theory, then did his practical. He "failed" and was asked to come back the following day for a couple of extra hours training. The school I used is banging new rider after New rider out on the road with very very basic instruction.
So in short, my view is the system needs some sort of reform.

The government is intent in driving off younger riders, making it far harder to get involved in motorcycling. I believe firmly that bikers make better all round drivers, driver education should be aimed at car drivers not penalising bikers again and again.

i agree that they should do the theory test if they haven t been on the road before and that riders do make better drivers, but as the stats say it is the younger riders that are binning it. i wrote my bike off the same day i passed my test (17yrs old) and you see it everywhere the young lads/girls going everywhere as quick as they can and looning about, no training will stop it. but do agree that young drivers should be restricted in some way when they pass there tests.
