Ford Escort mk1 1969, 2 doors - Fully restored and in excellent condition description: For Sale here we have a beautifully restored 1969 Ford Escort Mk1 two door. This Escort has been kept as close to the original Factory standard as possible. Everything is as it should be on an Escort. The spray job is ten on ten in my opinion. Pictures speak for themselves. Engine works perfectly but would do with a better carb or webber. Interior has been re done where needed to bring back the Factory condition wanted. Few minor things left to be done:- Door weather strips need to be bought and installed, A rear boot lock has to be bought and installed, Rear boot opening cable has to be installed if wanted by the new owner Other than that car is finished This Lovely Escort is excellent for someone which wants a mint classic car which needs little to no work, and he/she can start and drive to the next classic car show.

Does anyone else recall seeing these dumped in the 1980's?......well before even the 'Police Aware' sticker thing came about.
Used to see many abandoned and vandalized MK1 & MK2 Escorts when the 'state of the art' MK3 was out.
If we'd have known then what we know now....

My ex brother in law bought one with a 3 litre capri motor in it for hot rod racing he stuck a 1600 motor in and ran it till it caught fire due to dodgy wiring,he bought the write off and restored it but he discovered it started life as a rare Lotus model so he restored it to original with I think a 1500 twin cam motor,he sold it for £7500 and this was in late 80s.I had one bought from my brother it was rotten with huge hole where your feet rested when driving and the A pillar offside had rusted virtualy straight through
