Quite fancy one of these myself - or it's dressed down brother XBR500. Get a few over every year for the Classic TT (MGP), and every time think 'must get one of those' then forget about it 'till next year. You've just set me off again - off to ebay to have a look....

the 500 tt jap gray or us. german inports go for very good money a lot of copies in the uk made from the xbr500 the xbr500 fetch a lot less and there are plenty about had mine now 5 years now great b road bikes bike mags like to compare them with bsa gold stars i do not think so

I'm I correct in saying that 400cc & 500cc single cylinders are harder started than the SD400n Twin, I never had a big thumper yet.

I think any modern thumper (400/500) will have an electric start anyway so you should be ok
