Would it not be easier to delete members who have not logged in for 6 months then the shy ones can carry on benefiting from the site.

I have an idea, if you burn one of them at the stake, it will serve as an example to others.
Just one, say any red head, that way you will have people on your side!
Glad i could help guys.
Gee.

How about turning the lights off then sticking a needle in a county on the UK map?
Then whatever the county, we start with the quiet members in that county.
It would be a bit like pin the tail on the donkey except you use a map and no lights

More input within a few days, if you post pictures and can preview them!!!! Gee.

I can see the logic of getting rid of dead wood, keeps things tidy, but here is a funny one! My interest with Superdreams started during my school days, I used to walk up the town on lunch break and drool over parked up Superdreams, it gave me hope to get through some difficult times at school, that one day I would own my on Superdream! Decades later ( a few years ago) I came across the old SD website which preceded this one and I joined, I think I may have posted one or two posts then either I forgot my password or my browser went faulty on my last laptop, so for a number of years I was able to view all the forums as a member, but it would not let me post anything. So I was content as a silent member and I was gathering up knowledge and making technical notes in my SD Journal I continued visiting it and got familiar with all you guys names and when I had a bit of knowledge accumulated I got my first SD, a black 250n. Then I was busy for a while with no Laptop and didn't visit for a number of months, during which time I baught my second SD a red 400n. When I came back on line the website had vanished and I found this website instead.
But the funny thing is that if I had been removed for not posting on the old website, then chances are I probably would not have gathered enough knowledge and momentum to purchase my first SD and something else would have come along instead, maybe with long legs and a lot more expensive, and my wife might have ditched me.
(And I would not be here as I would have been kipping in the Salvation Army with no internet after miss Longlegs would disappear and yous all would be at a huge loss !!!)

Scania, the whole purpose of this notice period is to allow silent members time to state that they wish to remain here. They can do this via a first post or a pm to a staff member. We do appreciate that some members do not want to say anything public and just use the forum as a tool but those that don't show any interest at all will be removed as per our one and only rule.

You could also see it like this:
To contribute then you are 'paying'.....not in a monetary way but with your voice and knowledge and enthusiasm that will inspire and help others.
If you remain quiet, you help no one but yourself and it is rather selfish if I'm honest.
I really don't buy the 'shyness' thing......this is a forum, not the Albert Hall.
