Hi Guys, I recently bought a seat from a breaker which was described as a 250/400 superdream seat but now when I try to fit the tail fairing to it the angle at the back looks different.Any suggestions? Mike.

Hi Mike there are two shaped seats. Early (78 to 81) and late (81 to 84).
You need the different tail piece to the one that you have so that it will mate together properly.

Yes Mike if you have the flared type at the moment with the black insert underneath it is the later type. You need the earlier one. Can be had from eBay quite cheaply.

Yes that explains it exactly ,the superdream I have is an NB no of previous owners is 21.I prefer the flared rear fairing to the flatter one but can I take it that I can fit either to this bike, the reg is SDW 160Y I dont know if anyone on here knows of this bike.Regards Mike.

I know that it was registered in South Wales.....but the reg does not ring true with me here. Yes, once you have the correct tail piece on it will fit the bike. Although it will always look earlier without the flare....it bothers some and some it does not.

What colour is the bike?
I have one of each of the tail pieces, the turned up one is sliver, just like Fungobats except not quite as nice. well no where near as nice, but functional.
The straight ones are black or blue, the blue is the better having the decals on them, the black being......black.
Gee.

The bike is Black with red/orange decals so a black tail fairing would be ok. Mike .

I live about 5 miles north of Caerphilly a place called Cefn-Hengoed. I havent decided really what to do regarding the seat as yet as I have the original which has been recovered but the base has some dodgy bits on it and I have the one I bought from the breakers which is for an older model but needs recovering and I havent got the tail fairing for.I am not looking for any freebies I am willing to pay for a fairing when I decide what I want to do so thanks very much for the Offers.I see David Silver Spares sell an aftermarket seat of which they have a stock of 1 anybody any knowledge of the aftermarket seats. Regards Mike.
