Just wondering what people use to protect their bikes over the winter months, i have just got a bottle of Scottoiler fs365 does anyone use it and is it anygood. I am tempted to buy some ACF50 as i have heard its very good, anyone use it and what do you think of it.

Thanks Terry, my 250n is my regular work commuter and i was thinking with. winter on its way i should protect it from the riding elements, like i said i will try the scottoiler365 but when that runs out i think i will give the ACF50 a try

The subject of the garage section in MCN this week was corrosion protection for bikes that are used through the winter. As usual, it was the lite version, although that's not too bad for this particular subject. The gist of it was; pre-rinse to soften any grit or grime, then wash with a quality cleaner with anti-corrosion qualities (it didn't name any make, which wasn't very helpful),. Rinse off, then dry with a cloth or warm air drier - I suppose you could use the wife's hair drier when she's out. Then spray with ACF50.

I have only ever used ACF50 so can't compare to alternative products,ACF50 is easy to put on I use a clean sponge and dab it all over the chrome etc. it stays where you put it and it works all winter and just washes off, easy. In past I would just wash bike off with water ie no detergent and dry thouroughly very time consuming.I use ACF50 on bikes while stored as don't ride through winter any more

But the Jota is an investment and should be kept warm and dry it needs to be in the house or perhaps even its own room!

I tried telling her but to no avail.I actualy didn't like riding the bike for several reasons, most people that have had Jotas told me I wouldn't like riding it and they were right, sold it and bought a new caravan
