Hello everyone,
I am trying to make a cafe racer from Honda CB400N 81' and have a question about tires. Bike rims are regular, 19x2.15 front and 18x2.15 rear, so what are the widest tires I can put on it? Thinking about 100/90 front and 120/90 rear, isn't the later one too wide? What about handling and other things? I really wouldn't like to buy it and realise I can not fit one or another.
Thanks in advance!

100/90 on the front is ok largest on the back would be a 110/90 or 110/80.
I have run a 4.25/85 18 before, when pirelli made the Phantom in that size (a long time ago), I currently have a new 120/80 18 (on a wider rim) but it is to big, going back to a 110/80.

I have just bought 110/90-18 rear tire. What do you suggest putting in front - 100/90-19 or 90/90-19, keeping in mind that original rear was 4.10 and front was 3.60? If I put 100-90, wouldn't it be too wide knowing that rear is just a little bit wider than original? Not sure how it will affect the handling.
Thanks!

I'm also building a cafe racer and have kept mine on the standard tyre sizes. Personally I prefer the narrower tyre as it looks more in keeping with the original look of the cafe racer of the 60s. Good luck with whatever you decide to do and show us some pictures of your progress.

The 3.60 was a low profile affair.
The availability of the 3.60 is quite rare these days - Metzeler and Dunlop do them, though.
3.00 is also an option - I recommend Heidenau in this size.
You also have to consider whether you want a modern or classic tread pattern....and if your require tube type (TT) or tubeless (TL).

By the way, some fit 3.25 on the front.....they are quite chunky.

I've got a 3.25 on the front, and a 3.50 rear

I bought Dunlop Arrowmax, so it would be more like a modern pattern than old school. I decided to put TL tires on both ends, so my only options are 100/90 and 90/90, I need to chose only from these
