Hi, can anyone advise if from the photo in the weblink if the these crash Bars are original / proper crash bars. or Were they for some other bike but modified to fit the SD. or Could they have been custom designed in an engineering work shop?
also
Any opinions on their suitability and practicality on a SD ?

They look like one of those games that you have to run a hoop over..........but if you touch the bar the buzzer will sound.

No need to take a tent on meets with those- you have the tent frame already....

So I think the general consensus is that they would not look good on my burgundy 400n !

I haven't rang the guy yet, he is selling the complete bike so he might not want to take the bars off anyway.
I rang a few classic bike shops in Ireland in the last week an they told me that SD crash bars are as scare as hens teeth in Ireland. So one of my other plans is to watch out for an SD with bars for sale and then see will the guy sell me the bars or maybe the complete bike, (if I can off load my Suzuki to make space for it)

They're the sort of thing people stuck on old British clunkers, they look awfull in my opinion they'd offer no protection if you fell off and likely collapse and cause more damage than if not fitted

Those bars look the sort that would be used with leg shields on, but to be honest they would look better on a cx500
