Hello all. My name is John and I am clasic car guy that just bought his first real motorcycle. A cafe Honda CB400N. It was completed about two years ago, sold, and I bought it from the second owner since the build. It was used daily by the previous owner. I do not intend to use it as a daily, but just as a good looking bike, used for pleasure rides. I live and work in downtown Athens, Greece and ride old Vespa scooters in town that suit me fine. The plan is to improve the bike and enjoy riding it.

Hi John, welcome. Like the bike - captures the look without radical reworking.

Thank you for the warm welcome.
I bought the bike because I thought it was a good base for what I plan to do next.
The general idea is to make it look like a classic bike.
I intend to : chage the tank to one with a straight lower edge, fabricate some new side covers, fit some vintage instuments, fit some vintage looking tyres, chrome front and rear mudguards, move the numberplate to the rear, fit some nice indicators, un-chrome the engine covers and top, fit the original airfilter box, give it a serious going over to make sure everything works as intended.

It's your bike and you must do as you see fit, but I'd definitely keep the tank (abeit do something about the lug holes). Saw a lovely one on bike.exif a while back where they made up some triangular mesh panels to finish off that angle (on a CB900 I think).
What I like about it is the way that unlike many other superdream cafe-racers it still looks like it's a superdream, but somehow avoids the "tiny engine hiding in a frame" that lots of the have.
