A lot say it causes clutch slip but I allways use castol GTX semi synthetic and I've never had any trouble Kieran

you'll just have to try it and see. But I know when I put the wrong oil in mine the clutch slipped and after that I had to change the plates.

Car specific oil will knacker the clutch on a bike- car engines do not have a gearbox and wet clutch all sharing the same oil. So car oil has different friction modifier additives. Any bike oil should mention the "JASO" specification on the tin. It's not whether the oil is mineral, semi-synthetic, or even fully synthetic- all these are available to JASO specs for bikes. www.oilspecifications.org/jaso.phpHaving said that- accidentally chucking a bit of car oil in won't be too bad, just drain the excess off and do not put any of it back in....
