OK,so things are a bit tight at the moment for various reasons so I decide to sell some stuff on eBay,steadily been listing all sorts of stuff over the last couple of days. This evening I listed a pair of Lewis Leathers Classic Gauntlets,I bought them at a bike show years ago but they have always been too small so hardly wore them. I put them on with a start price of £14.99 + £3 p&p. About 2am I get a msg via eBay from some dude in Tokyo offering me £60GBP + postage if I end the auction now,I am ,by nature, a suspicious fella so I thought about it and couldn't see how this obvious scam worked. I then offered to put up a Buy It Now price of £60,he agreed so on it went with £12 (guessed) p&p charge. 5 minutes later I got an instant payment notice from Pay Pal to say some guy with an unpronouncable name had paid me £72,I immediately went on line and transfered it into my bank account. So........on paper I appear to have made a 400% profit on my old gloves, the money is in my bank and the gloves will be posted tomorrow. Anybody think how this can go tits up on me? Suppose its a bit late in the day to be asking now the deal is done ,but try as I might,I cant come up with a way this chap can benefit from this. I'm sure that there are gloves to be had for a fraction of that price on sale on t'internet. Am I looking a gift horse in the mush? Have I done a dumb thing? I should be jumping thru hoops with joy but the old saying keeps coming around "if it seems too good to be true,it probably is"............. Any thoughts on this ? He is definitely Japanese not Nigerian BTW, night night, from Nix

Now that is a result to treasure - good one.
A few years ago I broke up an old Goldwing , put it on Ebay and got £200 for some of the bits. Buyer changed his mind saying he had no intentions of buying , he was just taking the piss out of me. I re-listed and two buyers got into a bidding war and ended up selling the lot for £720. The buyer collected two days late with some lovely cash in my hand.

Payments made with Paypal can be retracted by the purchaser if they claim the goods didn't arrive therefore they get your goods and then their money back, make sure you post with tracking and to be signed for.All sorts of scams out there trust no fu##er

£27.70 is the cheapest i have seen for postage to Japan plus signature, paypal or ebay might give you a price for postage.
Try to keep yourself covered at all times.

Hope it all goes ok nix, I think if sellers start getting done on eBay with this money back thing if they don't receive the item ebay could lose a lot of custom because most items will be sent registered post then and so pay more in the long run surely ebay would have to do something but let's hope it doesn't come to that !!

Take a photo of your packed item at the post office. Also scan the receipt. If its not too dear, pay extra for registered post. If there is an issue, paypal will want to see proof that it was sent. If you can prove that, they should not take money out of your paypal account. If you have instant bank transfer setup in paypal, with no money in paypal, after a dispute, paypal can then draw coin from your normal bank account via your "instant bank transfer". But then, ive put stuff on ebay to save me a trip to the dump, and people went bonkers over a broken shower screen. 80 AUD from memory. All the best.

Well sent them today, tracked and signed for £12.45,not a bad guess, can take up to 42 days to get there (what are they using to deliver them a FS1E?!!!!) so guess I just wait and see what transpires. I reckon I now have 47 bottles worth of Newcastle Brown Ale credit thanks to Mr Miyanishi, lets hope he doesn't try and get it back!!!

I use the Harley pads as very little muck comes off them,I have whitewalls on and find better performing aftermarket pads make a mess of tyres,a sad answer but true
