Acquiring a frame with V5 and plate is not a bad option if you are struggling- they tend to be left over from the Ebay strippers as not worth selling though. Where are you based? I have a couple of good frames with the right pedigree..... I live in Atherstone just outside Tamworth, but I work in Coventry so all fairly central, how much would you be asking for one of said frames?

£25 just so I can buy the boss breakfast and act all smug as she said they are worthless and cluttering up the unit. I got them with a collection of parts a while ago. The batch of parts was actually rubbish TBH.
I have 2 with V5 in my name and SORNED-
"V" reg 250 with frame 2023345 so originally a kicker "X" reg 400 with frame 2202455 so I think an NB. This one might be closer to what you want...
I'm 100 miles away in Brigg, so your real cost is coming to get it.

The V reg 250 would be ok, it wouldn't matter that its a kicker and the frames will be the same wouldn't they? Any chance you could weigh it so I can work out possible courier costs, I'm not in a massive hurry for it so it give me some time to figure out how to get it and i'll have it off you, keeps the "boss" happy and gets it out of your hair, would you want cash or paypal?

Use Shiply.com if you want some decent quotes.

Ah- sorry- yes it's a 250 you are working on I thought 400 for some reason!
Sold for £25 then. I'll PM you details for PayPal. Let me think about the courier thing- if you are not in a hurry? We have a van does a run down to Newark/Chesterfield every day which is halfway to you anyway. Must be something we can arrange...

....and it looks like the 400 frame has also been sold to a forum member. Must have been too cheap!

This is all quite interesting. About fifteen years ago I purchased a black 250 Superdream off eBay for £80.00, it's quite tatty but all there. It was found in a forest in Northampton shire run by English nature by one of their forest rangers. It had been stolen then ridden around the forest until it ran out of fuel then just left, it had no number plate. It was reported to the Police, no one claimed it so the ranger was allowed to keep it and I purchased it from him (I have the crime reference number) Again this has matching engine and frame numbers but no reg number. I would love to find it's original number so I might see what I can do myself via HPI

I would imagine that an application to DVLA with Make, Model, Frame and engine numbers would result in something, would be interested in what forms and hoops you had to jump through.

I'd not waste my time with the DVLA on something like this.
It would be a few hours of your life wasted that you'd never get back.
