I have just got round to working on a CB400N that I have owned for a year now _ I know , I`m a lazy sod .Stripping the head off to inspect the motor I found that 3 of the hesd bolts have some sort of rubber seal just above the threaded section. These were inserted in the middle four bolt holes. Two on exhaust side with one on inlet right cylinder. This seems a little odd. Can someone enlighten me - is this correct or has the PO messed up with his building skills . The bottom end of the engine looks fairly good so I hope that this is the only cock up he made.

Yep, don't do what I did - "what idiot put this stuff on here". Sliced them off & cleaned the bolts up nice. The oil leak was impressive.......

Could've given you a nicely polished plain bolt No jet wash, just top end strip down, head & cylinder gasket no. 2. Think I'm going to need no. 5 now, but that's another story.......
