Hi Guys, I just spent an hour on my Honda SD CB400n in a large concrete yard practicing turns, figure of 8 etc for a progression module I have coming up in about a month which hopefully will get me a full A2 License (I already have a full A1). I have being doing nearly an hours practice every day for the past week
Anyway I am sore all over now, back, shoulders, arms hips everything. Age is part of it but I'm not ancient either.
Just wondering can anyone advise me on how does the SD400 compare with other classic twins and classic singles of the 1970s & 1980s? I will never sell my SDs but I might add a less viby machine to my fleet!

I started a thread last week about more or less this subject. Basically the 400 engined bike I have are far less refimed than my old 250,you simply cant feel the engine is running in the 250 but both my 400's vibrate like an old British twin - its not a problem for me but the difference is quite marked. All that said my NC is way smoother than some of my old bike , like say the BSA C15 250 single for example, now that was a recipe for vibration white finger!

My superdream is smoother than any of my Brit bikes.
I have a 650 triumph that I have had the crank balanced on and that is still not as smooth
The Bmw twin is nearly as smooth once you get the revs up.
the smaller brit singles I don't go over 40mph but over that it's not comfortable vib wise .

I've also never experienced anything other than smoothness from 400N's.

Thanks guys, my SD400 probably needs bit of balancing and tightening here and there.
