Just letting you all know that I am from Belfast and have just purchased a 1979 Honda CB400T dream for restoration and using on sunny Sundays next year. Bike was overhauled by its previous owner about 14 years ago but has been stored in a garage for the last seven. Its a non runner but that's all part of the challenge.
Major work to be done is the following
1. Forks need replaced (Previous owner has fitted patterned but very rusty ) and steering checked out 2. All chrome parts will need refurbished or replaced 3. Front and rear brakes need attention 4. Fuel tank ,carbs, and lines cleaned and replaced if necessary 5. New filters, oil changed and spark plugs renewed
I intend to get the bike on the road before September and then overhaul the engine during the winter.
Biggest challenge will be finding parts. Just need a good pair of OEM forks.
This will be my first major restoration however I did get a CX500 back on the road a few years ago.
Cheers
Dreamon

Thanks all for the hello. Lovely 250 there. Where have you been able to source the mudguards, exhaust and forks from?

German eBay has the best quality second hand parts. Cmsnl.com and David Silvers have most new parts required.
Unfortunately original mudguards and any original exhaust parts are getting rare but do come up occasionally.
We will help source any parts you may need as your rebuild progresses.
