Hi All. Just joined this forum. I have a 1979 SD 400N. I have owned it for about a year. I have restored it to a "tidy" condition but intend to do a full cosmetic restore when cash permits. Like most restorations it has cost twice as much and taken twice as long as I had expected. I was a member of another forum but that seems to have now ceased to exist. I don't know why and perhaps it's best not to ask questions. I happened to see another SD 400N in Folkstone harbour on sunday, does it belong to anyone on the forum? All the best. Mike.

Mike welcome...... We are sorry about the other forum issues - the problems stemmed from internal frictions which started around a year ago now but we are all moving on....the sudden recent(and we think final) second deletion of it was a shock to many including me, believe me. In respect of others, I won't say too much but I can re-assure you as best that I can that there will not be a repeat of that situation again. This forum is run differently to that and I think a lot of us have learned from the situation on the other forum. Please try and relax and enjoy it here.

Hi All. Thanks for the welcome. Will keep you posted on the progress of the Superdream. I probably will not have much to report for a while, it's already gone over budget. I just enjoy riding it as it is. Probably the next job will be to strip the engine and replace the balance chain as it has run out of adjustment. It's unfortunate that to replace this involves an engine strip as in all other ways it seems fine, no rattles or smoke, uses no oil and runs well. Maybe a good winter project. I will be riding the Bantam at the West Kent VMCC run in August. I wonder if any forum members intend to go to this. All the best. Mike.

Hi mike. They're a couple of corkers you've got there. Can't wait to see the superdream in better condition, it looks plenty good enough from that angle.
