Ok, so i dont spend anymore money than i have too, i'm trying to sort out my helmet lock on drv. I've got it off the bike as I need to modify the barrel to match the key. Now heres where i have the problem..... I cant get the barrel out , any tips or am I trying to do something that cant be done ??

Hi I did the same with mine a year or two back. took it apart and moved the little brass plates around until the ignition key worked. If I remember correctly I had to remove the chrome/stainless cover the key fits into,to get the barrel out. I think it's held in by a centre punch dimple , had to prize it out with a screw driver.

Ok, so i've got the silver cover off, and the little flap has also come off, still nothing is budging ? I'm missing something simple i know it ?

Have you tried getting it out with the key inserted ?

tried with and with out the key, did you have a working key when you took yours apart. Mine has no key so am wanting to set it to the ignition key

No .the helmet lock came attached to a replacement rear fender from Germany and the ignition key came with a replacement lock from Scotland.
The little brass plates inside the lock are staggered and and sprung loaded , they have to be lined up for the barrel to turn or be removed . sorry can't remember how I did it .
Might have been with some needle or dentist tools I had . but that is how it came out .

Its got a crimped alloy peg holding the metal cover plate on. looking at it it needs drilling off. I would then want to screw it back together rather than glue it.
