What memorable events or things stick in your mind from your time on planet Earth?
Here's mine....
Pound notes and the introduction of pounds coins. Charles and Dianas wedding. Half pence peices. The introduction of satellite tv and "squarials" Yuppies and mobile phones. The James Whale Radio Show .... On tv. Microwave ovens were for posh people. Compact discs were invented and were going to be indestructible. Sinclair C5s were on tomorrow's world. One BBC computer for the whole school to use. And of course, wagon wheels were massive.

The Queens Silver Jubilee Celebration Street Partys Playing in the local barley field for hours Collecting frogspawn and putting it in a Belfast Sink in the garden. Playing Japs and Gerry's with wooden guns, well bits of wood branches etc. Go karts made from a plank and old pram wheels. Seeing A Video Recorder for the first time, which took up half my mates living room. Getting a Hurricane Schauff bike for Christmas which looked like a motorbike, complete with telescopic forks, twin shocks, metal petrol tank, bates headlight it was the mutt's nuts. Mobile Shops Pubs closed all day Sunday in fact everything shut all day Sunday. Black Beauty, Little House on the Prairie, Wurzel Gummidge and the Lone Ranger on TV. Eagle Eye Action Man Raleigh Grifters and Burners My Da making Bitsa bicycles My Da's Garelli 50 Moped Doing a paper round for which I got 10p a paper per week which meant £2.80 a week. Getting up and 4.30am to do a milk round then falling asleep in school, well the milk round was better pay anyway about £24.00 I felt like a millionaire the first time I got my wages. My Mum telling the milkman I wasn't working for him anymore because I was spending all my money on drink, after getting drunk on cheap cider and boking everywhere when I got home Ah those were the days

Marbles in the playground British Bulldog - boys against girls!!!!! Tennis over the front garden wall - little brother AWLAYS had to stand in the street......... Reading the Corgi and Dinky catalogues when it came time to write your Christmas list to Santa Being dragged out of bed at some ungodly hour to watch the first moon-landing (thanks Dad - I realy mean it!!!) 3 weeks every year touring Europe in our motorhome, when all my friends from school had holidays in the UK. Having to wear a blazer, cap and shorts when attending junior school - and no, it wasnt a 'posh' school, just the local authority run version. Listening to Dave Lee Travis (the hairy cornflake) on Radio 1 at breakfast-time before school. Spending sunday afternoons parked up on the perimeter road alongside the main runway at Heathrow, watching the planes and having a picnic (try doing THAT today!!!!).
More when I have time..........
