I wonder if the hesitating throttle was because it was a hire bike with 14k millage and not been serviced well?

Yes, watching that I think I'd rather stick with my Hunter than go for the Honda, plus RE parts are much cheaper than genuine Honda parts. Is the Honda ride by wire? My Triumph Speed 400 is snatchy at lower speeds, which I think is to do with the ride by wire - would stop me going to Wales on it with all those 20mph limits
