As you may have seen on TV its the 40th anniversary of a bit of a disagreement that we had with the government. Like all things if you were not there or live in these communities you will not know the impact of loosing a industry that is the only reason that community is there and if you have you will know how these communities feel. I was lucky some may think I stayed in the industry to the end 46 years .today there are no skilled well paid jobs unless you count cannabis farming or drug dealers Doncaster is now one big f*****g warehouse. I am lucky my to sons I put through uni and both have good jobs but not in Doncaster my daughter well she is happy and that's fine with me.but all the community values have long gone I knew everyone were I lived 40 years ago I know nobody now just my spring rant we are having some marches this month so us old gits get some exercise and a guy called Arthur scargill is coming to talk who is he you may ask a f*****g wast of air.carnt wait the bikes are getting restless and so am i

A lot has changed in the last 40 years wherever you live , I was in Milton Keynes as a Mechanical and Production Engineering apprentice , at the time there was a big railway works at Wolverton and numerous production and genuine manufacturing companies . The apprentice training school car park had all the Fizzies, Honda 50s, Ap50s and oddball Garelli/Gileras etc just a couple of years later it had a few cars and push bikes leaning against the wall , no powered two wheelers then it closed as no more apprentices in that area coming through . Now it's all Service industies and warehouses with a very few exceptions .
Can see a lot of school leavers getting a wharehouse job and never getting a real chance of advancement from that , wouldn't want to be a kid now , surprisingly !
