Hi all. I’ve taken the bars off my SD for its restoration. I have no idea if they are original. Is there a way to tell? They’re too far gone to clean and need rechroming. I’m just wondering that if they’re not original or special then I may as well just buy new bars at half the price of rechroming. Any thoughts or answers appreciated.

The original Honda bars will have indentations on them to align with

Cheers Pete. They have the usual serrated parts in the middle to grip what they are bolted to. Will examine more closely to see if there are any other ones ta.

Thanks Pete. Had a look. No marks etc so aftermarket bars obviously. Saves me re chroming something I suppose. 😀. I’ll get the original bars measurements then order a new set. Cheers again.

Look at eBay.de item no. 354982859523 The 9th picture shows you the marks note these are Euro spec handle bars slightly higher than Uk ones - I have German ones on my 400 |

Had a look and then went back to my bars. Cleaned them more and well slap my thigh if there aren’t marks on them! I thought they were chrome bubbles!! As I’m doing a sympathetic’ (budget) resto I may be able to salvage them. Have attached pics to make sure and thanks for your help on this.    |
