Anyone know if the Carb inlet rubbers for the 250N and 400N are interchangeable? They have slightly different part numbers according to CMSNL, but maybe they both fit?
The original ones on 250N are not a good fit in terms of length and you have to pull out of grooves to get a good seal around them and the airbox rubbers. Maybe because they shrink??

The 400 ones are larger in diameter than the 250 carbs, and they are larger than the ports in the head at the other end, though the bolt holes match. The bloke "Ryan" who is doing a 250 rebuild on youtube that is posted on here regularly managed to mangle a pair of 400 ones onto his 250, but anyone with any sort of engineering standards would soon shy away from doing so once they realize how hard you would have to radge the things down to fit even very badly. I have both 250's and a 400 and have looked at trying it as the 400 rubbers are cheaper and more readily available... trust me it would sooner or later end in tears..

Yes it's the fact they are quite a bit cheaper than the 250s for some reason. Not worth the bodging to try and use them. I can stick with my old but hard ones for the time being.
