Thanks Ian. Adjusters are identical apart from one being silver and one black, nut size and thread length is the same. Some pics from wemoto shows them being different lengths. I’ll see what the seller says.   |

I just got a couple of new replacement throttle cables from Wemoto. Tried fitting today but they seem to be wrong lengths. The throttle opening (A) cable is much longer than current one, by about 4 inches and too long to adjust. The throttle closing (B) cable is too short and does not fit. You can't get them in wrong as the two cables have different size threads to fit into the respective threaded holes in twist grip housing.
Anyone else had this issue? I wondered if these are for the Dream, not SD. Will give Wemoto a call tomorrow to try and sort out.

Update. I just had another go and fitted the B (close) cable by fitting this first and found operation was good in combition with the original pull cable. I then noticed that there was plenty more adjustment on this old A cable than there used to be when using in it's own without B cable.
So decided to try again fitting the new Wemoto A cable. Still has more play than I would like with all the adjustment taken up. The throttle grip has about 30 degree free play ( from 12 o'clock to 10 o'clock rotation). Carb throttle valves open and close fully, but a lot of free play on A cable.
Any ideas welcome.

So now after speaking to Wemoto I am more confused.  They told me that the A cable inner cable should measure 113.5cm long. I measured it 114.5cm, but it's too long at 113.5 or 114.5! However the one taken out is 109cm (and that was on higher Dream bars). They also said the B cable should be 119cm (so longer than A), but the one they sold me is shorter at 112 cm! Go figure!!  I looked an another website 'Motorcycle products Ltd' who I've used before and are OK. They show the cables as A = 100.5cm (will be too short) and B = 114.5 cm (which would be far too long). I'm wondering if this website has got their specs mixed up for each one. Long and short of it is I have a pull cable that is about 50 mm longer than current one and with all the adjustment taken out, still need to get at least 25mm shorter. Does anyone have a good reliable source for correct cables or can confirm these sizes. Thanks. |

I was indeed sent 2 A cables, ebay seller was very good, full refund and keep the cable as he had no more B cables. My bike had an untidy A cable on it which seems to match the new one I got but it had no B cable. I've since ordered one from Wemoto as well so I'll see how it looks when fitting time comes.

My bike had an untidy A cable on it which seems to match the new one I got but it had no B cable. I've since ordered one from Wemoto as well so I'll see how it looks when fitting time comes. Martin, Is there any chance you could measure the length of the inner cable in the spare A cable you have and let me know what it is. Thanks.  |

Inner A cable I have is 109cm. I should say this was the only cable on my bike when I got it, was just hanging, not connected at either end and my bike is stripped with engine out at the moment so be wee while before I can try it out, it does make me a bit wary of the B cable I've ordered from Wemoto.

Thanks Martin, That's interesting you have the same size pull (A) cable as my original which makes sense.
Is that your original one that size or the two A cables you bought?

The B cable from Wemoto should be ok if it's the same as I got. It does just fit, but no adjustment really. As long as you fit carb end first and then into the twist grip.
