What chain drive ratios are folk using on SD250, the standard 41 to 15 tooth or have you changed to a different ratio? If so what benefit or otherwise from a different set up? Thanks.

When I got my 400NA first & when I got my 250 later I was quite disappointed in the performance. It was only when I rebuild it a few months later I realised the gearing had been increased. I can't remember the sprocket sizes, but when I fitted the correct ones it was much nicer to ride one the hilly roads around here. More recently, when I started using it for trips away & ended up riding down a few straight 60mph A roads, I went up a tooth on the front sprocket, which dropped the revs a bit at a steady 50 or 60mph on these roads, but didn't seem to effect performance on hilly country lanes.

Thanks Ian. That's useful info.
