Looks like my 1955 Ariel Red Hunter but the primary chain case on mine is alloy, though that one might be painted. That is a half-width cast iron front hub so early '50s bike as in the mid-50's full width alloy hubs were introduced on British bikes.

I just wish the photo was clearer so we could see more detail. It could be a C11 or C12. A look at the rear suspension is what's needed. Not much help, I know!
