So I got the bike last week, now had a chance to look it over. Bike is whole, on its wheels, engine in frame. Plenty missing though, no clutch, choke, throttle cable, front brake hose missing, no centre stand, that’s just for starters. Where to start?
It has no battery (I’ve asked about this in another thread), so I just used an old car battery to give it some power and wow it had ignition lights, rear light, front sidelight, indicators, horn, all working. Starter motor solenoid clicking drew me to see no cable going to the starter motor. Looked at it and it’s shot, end cap fixings broken away. I did manage to get it to turn the engine very briefly.
So how to proceed? I’ve got a starter motor coming so I’ll check for spark and compression. If all good I’ll move on from there. If no good?
Will post again after testing. Happy for any replies/advice. Oh and note to self, next time removing starter motor put oil pan down.

. There is stuff available to overhaul or repair the starter motor.
