Here are some of ours past and present, the RF900 is long gone but I do love this pic of Rona on it outside the hooos. This is us picking up ORH from Tom. The XT Super Tenere is another gone bike. The FJ 1200 is still with me. The Harley I still have. The Dream you all know about, here is a start pic in the lounge and a progress pic and my knees. Gee.

Yes great pictures Ian. i still have a hankering for a 535. I've had a look at a few but missed them for one reason or another. The first was 4 or 5 years ago. It was very low miles, as new & a decent price, but I wanted it to replace my CB500 as my bike for trips away & by about 50mph I couldn't see much in the mirrors, so I left it. A while later I had another test ride on one for sale at the local RE dealers. It was a bit higher mileage, but in good nick & decent price, the mirrors were ok & I realised with more miles on the clock the vibration became less. Thought about it for too long & the bike sold. Number 3 was at another dealers, test ride was ok but it was £3,500 & for just a bit more, I got a 650 GT.  My other Enfield  I was out on this yesterday & stopped at the local garage to fill up & what should be at the next pump but a 535, so the hankering came back i |

The 535s do look good Ian and I really enjoyed having mine but suspect after your 650s they are going to feel a bit slow and vibratory ! It does seem the RE 500s do need a "proper" run in before they smooth out but undoubtably some have cranks in better truth than others too  . I was lucky with mine , bought untried but it was quite decently smooth - for a 535 single anyway ! Prices of them seem to have crept up a bit so sensibly you'd just keep what you've got ......... . I'm not good at the "sensible" bit , hence my turnover of bikes .

that looks the biss terry have you still got the honda,never had any look with new bikes every one i got i smashed up so from 1979 stuck with pre owned .only one R E has come my way couldn't get on with it ,it was not the bike that was perfect it was the dumb f**k trying to ride it.enjoy the bike se you arround this summer  |
