Are folk running their SD's on tubed or tubeless tyres? Just interested in pro's and con's as I need to replace mine.
Thanks,
Dave.

Only an option for the later reverse comstar MT2.15 Tubless rims. I would normally go for 90/90 19 front, and 110/80 18 rear. Tubeless are supposed to be less prone to sudden deflation.....
The Tububless tyres fitted with tubes on the earlier MT 1.85 tubed rims, need to be perhaps H or V rated as they drop a couple of speed ratings if fitted with tubes. Inside of the rubber carcase should be select as the less ribbed one if possible, and should still make "S" 113mph...Normally 90/90 or 3.25 front and 100/90 rear.

I have the earlier 1.85 rims, so sounds like even though they were meant for tubeless that not such a good option now? Although I don't think I'll be doing 113mph on the 250! 😀 is derating the only reason not to go for tubeless or is it availability? I was looking at 110/90 on rear, Avon roadriders. There is a thread on here about various tyre size options and that seemed closest to original spec, what do you think?

Tubeless started with the 400NB & 250NDB, with the MT2.15 rims which have "tubeless" on the rim centre upstand.
Avon 110/80 is closer to the original rolling diameter (based on measurements of original CB250NA wheels and boots). But exceeds the recommended size for the MT1.85 rim (by a litte bit).
Always with a tube on the earlier wheels (unless they have a "tubeless" mark), with either tubed or tubless tyres. As you say, won't be moving at high velocity on a CB2250N. The rubbing of the tube against the inside of the sometimes rougher tubless carcase causes the potential problem at higher speed. 8 think it was conti that in a couple of there earlier listing notes said 131 km max (- 81mph) with the tube.

Thanks again. I think I was confused thinking that the MT1.85 rim was tubeless. Thought I had seen that written somewhere on the current tyres or rim, but checked again and must have been seeing things! 100/90-18 is on rear at present, so I think I'll stick with replacing with that size as you suggest. I think the 110/90 I read was for the MT2.15 rims. I did not realise there were different rims on later models.
