I have noticed some dealers putting the price up on some of their motorbikes, used classic bikes.
Now then, the thought of, "If it doesn't sell at the cheaper price then why would they think it will sell at the dearer price".....greed?...following a market trend maybe?
My thoughts are..."the competition" dictates the price at the moment, NOT the "what can I get for it" or the "open to offers" of the past.
Good luck to them.
New bikes are different, they are controlled differently for pricing.....
But...Honda are now selling a state of the art modern 750 twin for £6999, The 750 Hornet.
£500 cheaper than the Yamaha MT and £1000 cheaper that the expected price of the Suzuki.
I think Honda are on the ball with this, they realise that people are skint, not just with x-mas happening but with all the shit that is happening around the world that dictates our price hikes here in the UK.
Fuel costs (inc heating) most notably.
I doubt I will be buying any new bikes this year (he says on Dec 17/12/22) or probably next year but glad to see some manufacture seeing some sense with their pricing.
Gee.

I've seen a couple of reviews on the new Hornet 750 in motorcycle mags & they rate it highly. I reckon Honda are on to a winner, but will it pull the price of the competition down?.........

I've seen a couple of reviews on the new Hornet 750 in motorcycle mags & they rate it highly. I reckon Honda are on to a winner, but will it pull the price of the competition down?......... I hope so Ian, Lets think about it....recession, one of the biggest since the end of the war...prices have never been this high for the necessities, food fuel and heating...(lager is still a good price so not all bad.) Strikes for wages just to get by. Not many people have money left for a new bike let alone a used one. As mentioned before it will take a special buy to be tempting......Honda and Royal Enfield are leading the way so far I think....I do hope it continues. On that note, an Enfield 350 Huntr for under £4000 or a Honda CB650F for under £8000 or a Honda Hornet 750 for under £7000........all as much fun to be on, after all they are bikes...... (Honda Melody springs to mind but that's another story I have posted before). With no spare money to spend on luxury goods, the suppliers will have to bring prices down if they expect to sell. I could go on but we all know this and more. Gee.

hello graeme have you not heard of sales retailers inflate there prices then at a later date discount them .nobody is buying motorcycles this time of year and if you did go into the dealer i bet they would give you a very good deal if you buy now.these sales tactics are as old as the wheel
