Hi,
Just signed up as i have just brought the above. Its a 1979 example and has been sitting in a garage for 5+ years. Will be lurking around looking for advise and will probably be asking questions. Thanks.

79, It’ll be a kicker then. I’ve often wondered what it’d be like to kick start a Superdream, I’ve only ever had an electric start. I’ve actually always hankered after a Helios red Kicker to share the stable with NNR, then again I’ve hankered after a DT175; 250 LC and many others too. One day I’ll bite the bullet but I think the 250N kicker is the “classic” Superdream, there’s always something about the MK1 that makes them a bit special, be it a Raleigh Chopper, Ford Escort, or whatever, everything that comes after is usually improved but it’s the original that everyone wants.. welcome btw, I’m sure you will find all the answers to all the questions, and more besides…

He always kicks it to start it, the button works, but prefers the kick start. I myself, press the button, I just love the electric starter on a bike. When I was a teen I used to ask a friend if I could start his Dream with the button and hear it burst into life. On another note kinda, the Harley is electric only but it always had a slow starter as I call it, like a flat battery. They are all like that though, its like starting a car, it takes a few turns before it lives. Gee.

My first Japanese bike, back in 1979, was a CB250G5 with both electric & kickstart, but after the kickstart Brit bikes I'd had I just carried on kicking, just thought the button was a backup. This continued with my next bike, a 500/4. That was followed by a CB750KZ, electric start only, so that was it, from then on I was a button presser. Now I have another electric/kickstart bike, my '78 CB400N, but I've hardly ever used the kickstart
