Went to view a 1986 CB750FD last night and conveniently the person was up for swapping with my 2015 NC750. Nearly pulled the trigger but eventually realised that i would lose all the day to day convenience of my NC with the frunk and a top box. Also as i already have a 1981 250 S/D i can still have the best of both worlds with a sunny day classic and day to day 750. The guy and his wife had a veritable stable of bikes including his & hers (and track day) XBR 500's, quite a few 250RS's and too many others to mention. I feel sad that i never got to buy one of my "must haves" from back in the day - but it would have meant getting rid of the dream, and well i couldn't do that could i ? Regards, bb

I had an earlier model with the DOHC engine back in the 90s, a CB750 KZ. It was a great bike, but it was HEAVY, and it had the same rubbish design centre stand as the Superdream, which is about 70kg lighter. A few years later, my car needed an engine rebuild & the KZ became my daily commuter for many months. Once the car was back on the road, I decided to rebuild the KZ. I stripped it down & took the engine to work to rebuild it, but knackered my back carrying it upstairs. Lost interest then, and got rid of it

Wish I'd finished the rebuild & run it for a few more years, but it would be too heavy for me now, plus I replaced it with my first Superdream - start of a long relationship

I once had a cb750fa from 1981 great bike given to me by a good friend , it had been stood a while but easily made road worthy if anything a bit heavy and big for me so I sold it on , darn good bike though
